FacetWin includes five registry scripts.

LANMAN.reg              (LANMAN will not work with Windows 11 24H2 or higher)
NTLMSSP.reg
NT_SERVER.reg           (NT_SERVER will not work with Windows 11 24H2 or higher)
RHOST.reg
UNIX.reg

Registry file download and installation:

1. Right-click the appropriate .reg file, click "Save link as" to download it 
    to the Windows PC.
	
2. Scroll to pick the Downloads folder to Save the .reg file.

3. Click "Open file" on the Downloads popup screen.

4. Click the Run button on the "Open File - Security Warning" screen.

5. Next you will see the User Account Control screen, click the Yes button
    to continue to run the Registry script.

6. Click Yes on the Registry Editor screen to continue to run the .reg file.

7. Next you will see another Registry Editor screen popup indicating the keys and values
    in the .reg file have been successfully added to the registry. Click OK.

When you execute the .reg script on a PC it will enable that PC to connect for File Sharing 
across the network to a UNIX FacetWin server using the specified "pass_security" method 
set in the facetwin.cfg file.

1. The "LANMAN.reg" can be used when the password that the user entered is checked
    against an encrypted password that is stored in a file named "fctpasswd" on the UNIX
    machine.

	pass_security=LANMAN

2. The "NTLMSSP.reg" can be used when the NTLMv2 password that the user entered 
    is checked against an encrypted password that is stored in a file named "fctpasswd" on the 
    UNIX machine.

	pass_security=NTLMSSP

3. The "NT_SERVER.reg" can be used in a network that uses a Windows server to
    maintain Windows user names and passwords.

	pass_security=\\ntserver_name
	pass_security=\\111.111.111.111

4. The "RHOST.reg" uses the standard UNIX .rhosts and hosts.equiv files to determine 
    if a PC can log in as a particular user.

	pass_security=RHOST

5. The "UNIX.reg" is used when the user will log in for File Sharing using their UNIX user name 
    and password.

	pass_security=UNIX
